Exinda WAN Optimization improves SAN Network Synchronization

On my recent trip to Europe I fielded a number of queries with regards to Exinda’s capabilities in improving the performance of Storage Area Network (SAN) synchronization over intermediate LAN/WAN links. The key for this use case is the intelligent acceleration capabilities provided by Exinda where traffic between two sites is accelerated through compression and data deduplication technologies as discussed in yesterday’s blog posting.

In this post we’ll demonstrate the results of a recent Proof of Concept (POC) that we have been running with a client. The environment has 1982 GB of data being replicated over a 4 Mbps MPLS link using a pair of Exinda 4861-10 WAN Optimization appliances using iSCSI.
